Will this be the leap home?
Jun. 10th, 2008 10:53 pmDo you love Quantum Leap? I love that show. Sometimes, when I wake up in the morning I look in the mirror and utter Sam's famous phrase "oh boy!" I try to go through the day pretending I am Sam Becket leaping through lives, and trying to right wrongs in the time line. Usually, much like the show, Ziggy's advice to me is lacking, if not useless. I have to follow my own instincts, especially since I can't really see a Holographic Dean Stockwell wearing odd futuristic clothing. Of course, when I say future I mean 1999, since that is when the show is supposed to be based. I lived through 1999 and clothing that was a mixture of 1940s Swing Hipsters and 1950s martian wear didn't seem to materialize. Aside, from select clubs in LA, and New York City (the BIG apple.) Yeah. So, I have to solve the problems of each day on my own and once the problem has been solved and I am about to leap I remember it's not really happening I first start weeping with frustration, because I was looking forward to leaping into the body of a blind black maid in 1960s South Carolina, so I could say "Oh boy! I'm a black blind woman!" But, then I realize that the good news is that I was able to fix the problem with Ziggy's help and even though I didn't leap I was able to solve a problem and make my life even better. Thank you Ziggy!
Speaking of movies. So far this summer season I have seen Iron Man (very good), Indiana Jones and the Crystal Skull (Super fun. A fine addition to the series) Forgetting Sarah Marshall (Super duper hillarious including vampire puppets and Veronica Marrs being jerky) and Baby Mama (Not quite as good as 30 Rock, but still fun. Plus, based in Philly. That is fun to see.)
There is a theater near my Mom's that shows movies for 5 dollars a showing. That makes it easier to take risks on movies that might not be excellent. In that vein I would like to see in the next few weeks - Incredible Hulk, Zohan, and Get Smart and I think thats it.
