Bob Mould was fun. He had a ton of energy as did all of his bandmates. The fugazi guy must have wasted 100 drumsticks by throwing them up in the air. I bet Bob Mould fines him for each one and writes a little note urging him to be more careful. The show was loud, so I put my fingers in my ears a little bit, because I can't stand the day after ear ringing and I didn't bring ear plugs. I looked foolish, I bet. But, who cares about looking foolish amongst a bunch of Bob Mould fans? Not many people.

As High Fidelity was starting John low and sweet, murmured in my ear. "Will you be my wife?". I felt butterflies explode through out my midsection. So, I ran to the bathroom. When I got back I realized he had stolen my wallet and was buying drinks for a bunch of teenaged Bob Mould fans. David was trying to stop him. But, his method didn't seem to work. He would say "What do you look like naked?" to the drunk girls. I don't know why he thought that would stop John. But, he did get several phone numbers.

After the show we went over to Canter's at my insistence. I like that place a lot. Good food, and usually weird waitstaff. We even got to see famous people. The Neville Brothers, and some guy from the OC. I would have never spotted either of them, but John and David both have noses for fame and they pointed them out to me.

I am feeling pretty sick, still. But, I was glad I got a chance to go out and see Bob. It was a ton of fun.

Oh. Thinking of conversations we had:
Mike Newell is directing the next Harry Potter. He did a bunch of stuff, including Donnie Brasco. But, he didn't do Notting Hill, I don't know why I thought he did.
The Getty is having the Weegee exhibit until January. I hope I can get over there before than and check it out. There is plenty of time, just have to find a good weekend to go.
I, and everyone with a good sense of humor, needs to buy
The Shroud of the Thwacker by Chris Elliott.
Caribou has a new DVD out that collects all of the cartoons they showed during their shows. So, everyone who went to see Stereolab with me up in the city should go get that DVD! (All two of you)
David, I looked up that movie on the IMDB and the character names are pretty funny. I look forward to seeing what you are able to do with that story. Did you notice that there was a German documentary about it? It would be cool if you could get that translated and get some more info.

Bob Mould happens this weekend. He just happens. John is going to see him tonight. And, tomorrow he will come down here and he David and I will see him in LA. I am looking forward to it. From what I understand, the last time I saw him he wasn't at his best. And, I thought he was great. So, I look forward to what his best is like.

I started the Time Traveler's Wife and I am liking it so far. It's a much longer book than I am used to. I am glad to get it started so early this time. My track record on book club books thus far has been to read them the night before It's a pretty interesting idea, and I like what she has done with the characters so far. Plus. Time Travel = keen

I am coming up on the time when my paid account comes due. I love being able to do polls and having lots of pictures, and I actually use the livejournal.com email address. But, other than that I don't see much reason to reup my subscription. I used to do it, because I felt like it was a contribution to a cool community. But, now that it's owned by a bigger company I feel less enthused to go through with the purchase. We'll see.

Oh man. OpenOffice.org is pretty cool. It's a free alternative to Microsoft Office. I have never been a big Office fan, but nothing else was really out there. I am glad I found open office. Has anyone else tried it out?
