New Laptop and Summer plans.
Feb. 5th, 2007 11:02 amMy laptop shipped today! Which is pretty exciting considering, the Ship Date on the website was listed as Feb 16th, and this is well before Feb 16th, according to my calendar which seems to be accurate in most ways. Also, I read up on the fingerprint reader thing, and that actually might come in handy. You can teach the software to link your fingerprint with passwords to different sites. And, when a password box pops up you can just scan your fingerprint, no need to type. That is the future!
My roommate is moving out pretty soon, and I have no desire to look for a new roommate for this place. So, I decided this spring/summer I am going to let myself be homeless and drive back East. That's the reason for the laptop. (I mean, aside from the fact that I like toys.) It's all pretty exciting. I will be able to take my time on the drive out, since I will be working as I go, and hopefully spending significant amounts of time in neat places (like Moab.) And, then when I get there have an extended visit with family and friends, at some point drive down to South Carolina and visit friends there. Have visits with any friends who decide to take me in. And, then after a few months with no roots drive back to California and look for a place to live in Ventura, or Santa Barbara. If any people have tips, tricks, ideas or anything good related to driving across the country, please let me know. I would be glad to hear it.
