Every bookstore in the world seems to have tables in the middle of the store - away from the stacks and the coffee - that is piled high with low priced books. "The Life of the Constitution" "How to Draw Ziggy" "Surviving on Steak and Lobster" those kinds of thing. Yesterday, I looked at a book called "The Art Of Ducking" This book was written so you could gracefully find ways out of social situations. Want to find a way to turn down that guy asking you out at the gym? How to avoid talking to your Mother In Law on the phone? You are late for work and don't want to explain it to your boss? These problems and more are solved by this informative little book.

My favorite technique listed was the "Racquetball Technique". Every time a question is asked, you answer with another question until the questioner is so tired out and confused he can't go on any more. "This technique is not 100% effective", the book warns. Even without it's guarantee of efficacy I think this is the technique to use. It's much more exciting and fun then having excuses or screaming fire and running away.

Next to the Art of Ducking was a book called The Art of Mingling. I think the should offer these books in a box set along with a book entitled The Art of Being by Yourself.
