[livejournal.com profile] katiekilldare was having an exciting week as an important corporate business person. Some of you might not know this, but Katie killdare went from polishing tiles, and getting [livejournal.com profile] miss_mabel's coffee to Doing lunches, handing out business cards, being a jet setter and having a black berry and million meetings a day. Yes. Katie become a Muckity Muck. She has the business cards, the dress shoes, the PDA, the suits and the badge to prove it all. And, this week was the typical exciting corporate work week. 5 martini lunches, secretaries bringing her newspapers, and big offices with comfy chairs.

Katie was enjoying a flight from Orlando to Atlanta sitting in first class drinking a corporate snake bite (Which is the same as a regular snake bite, only it has more of a kick to it. Plus. Free.) and looking over the day's events on her Blackberry, and listening to Neil Finn on her Ipod. (Unsurprisingly, even the muckity mucks like Neil Finn.) When suddenly, she saw something that made her jump up and yelp! "It's my birthday! OH MY GOSH!" Katie had been so busy with seeing people, and eating lunches, and sleeping in hotel rooms and all of the things muckity mucks do she had totally forgotten that it was her birthday! So. First, she did a little dance on the Airplane. Alison, the stewardess for muckity mucks came over and asked her why she was dancing, Katie told her about her birthday and how she almost forgot and Alison was so very happy to hear this. "I love birthdays! What can we do to make this the best birthday you ever had?" And, katie gave her a list of things that she wanted.

The plane had to turn around so they could stop in Orlando and pick up Took, Katie's favorite dog (don't let the others know). Some guy in coach complained and said he was allergic to dogs, and didn't want to have to wait while the plane turned around. The Air Marshals took care of him and his unamerican complaints. After that, Katie's birthday flight was unmarred by dissent. Once Took was safely on the plane Katie could do a proper birthday dance, and start planning what to ask for next.

First they asked the pilot if he would fly to London, which is in England. As it was Katie's birthday, the pilot had no problem turning the plane towards London, right away. Once there, Katie visited Big Ben, the changing of the guards with the froofy hats, [livejournal.com profile] missfran and her new house, numerous pubs, and the UK version of Chuck E. Cheese. For those who don' t know, every nation on earth has their own version of Chuck E. Cheese and Katie has made it her life's effort to visit each one. The Rodney R Rat is the British version, and while the menu is peculiar (Stewed Cabbage Niblets, Pickled Parmesan) the animatronic singing is the same everywhere.

Due to the magic of air flight and the international time line and other scientific facts that most doctors don't really understand, Katie was able to fly back to the States and arrive there while it was still her birthday. What luck! "I will have a tour of the United States as a birthday celebration!" Took danced around, as any dog who likes to visit different states and pee on them would dance around. They Rode Mules in the Grand Canyon, and wondered at the height of the Sears Tower in Chicago. Alison went along for all of these birthday celebrations. She claimed she would do it for any muckity muck, but it was pretty clear by her enthusiasm that she thought Katie had the very best birthday ideas. (Alison had her picture taken with Chuck E. Cheese ten times in one day. She smiled in each picture. That's breaks the former record of 8 set in 1983.)

All told, they hit every state, aside from Texas. And even by muckity muck standards Katie had the best birthday ever. Alison agrees.
